Napoleonic Museum, Rome

Napoleonic Museum, Rome

The themed museum dedicated to the Bonaparte family is located on the ground floor of the Primoli Palace in Rome. The museum was founded after the direct descendant of Napoleon Bonaparte – Count Giuseppe Primoli – passed the collection to the city. It was the collection of artworks that belonged to the family line. The heir allocated the ground floor of his 16th-century palace for the exposition. The latter includes various historical documents, paintings, portraits, sculptures, busts, weapons and personal belongings. The collection is quite rich and diverse with display units taking up 13 halls.

The first floor of the palace is occupied by a library of more than 30 thousand volumes. The second floor houses the National Gallery of Modern Art.
