Piazza della Signoria
Piazza della Signoria - one of the most famous, not only in Florence, but also in the whole of Italy. It is for several centuries was the most important political center of the city, which was the residence of the Florentine rulers. Its construction was started in 1302, together with the same palace, which today is better known as the Palace Vecchio.
Piazza della Signoria is literally overflowing with amazing architectural masterpieces. Here you can see an ancient arched pavilion with fifteen statues, called Loggia Lanzi. Attracts tourists with a huge statue of David, which is a creation of the great Michelangelo. In the center of the square is a fountain of pure white "Neptune", authored by Niccolo Ammaniti.
To get to the Piazza della Signoria is possible by public bus number 23, by taxi or on foot, walking through the center of Florence.
