ATB Museum, Bergamo
The Transport Museum ATB in Bergamo (Museo ATB) invites you to a real journey in time. Here everything is in the best traditions of the genre. Visitors sit down in the old restored funicular, the doors are closed, the vehicle begins to move, and behind the window, instead of the usual landscape of the 21st century, you see fragments of very old days. The museum will show what vehicles used to look like before, and through what upgrades and changes they had to go through before becoming what we are used to see nowadays.
The ATB Museum was opened in 2007. This event was timed to the centenary of the transport company Bergamo ATB (Azienda Trasporti Bergamo).
Exhibits of the museum
The Transport Museum offers visitors to get to know the history of the development of vehicles. This is made possible by:
- panels with descriptions of the main stages of the development of public transport;
- memorable things and working tools from the past;
- photographs, drawings and documents demonstrating the evolution of public transport in Bergamo;
- elements of transport mechanisms;
- multimedia tools.
Two funiculars are of special interest. While riding on one of them, you can observe the development of public transport and the city through the window.
With the help of another multimedia installation you can see what is under a bus or funicular.
