Pedestrian Bridge in Carrara Park, Turin
Pedestrian Bridge in Carrara Park (Passerella Pedonale del Parco Carrara) in Turin holds the honorary title of the oldest pedestrian bridge in Turin. A bridge across the Dora Riparia River was built to unify the two parts of a fairly old park, almost in its center in 1937. The work was carried out by the Turin firm Cumino. The company-builder did not excel and did everything in the simple and reliable way, using concrete and brick. The bridge has a typical arched structure: near the base it is lowered, in the middle it is raised. On both sides there is a simple metal railing. Despite its unpretentiousness, this arched bridge fits well into the park environment.
