The nature of the island is represented by typical Mediterranean vegetation, but there are several endemics here. On the island grows wild cabbage. Cavoli got its name in honor of it. From Italian Isola-dei-Cavoli is translated as an island of cabbage.

The sea is blue, the bottom is covered with white sand. The waters are rich in different types of fish, including dorada and barracuda. Many birds chose Isola-dei-Cavoli as a place for nesting.

The main attraction of Isola-dei-Cavoli is a lighthouse – construction of the second half of the XIX century. Previously, in its place was a watchtower. The walls are decorated with small plates of blue and purple flowers. Today, the lighthouse is the research center of the University of Cagliari.

A group of scientists from the University of Cagliari have developed an excursion around the island. The beginning of the trail is on the beach of Isola-dei-Cavoli. It is dedicated to the botanical features of the island.

Also on the coast of Cavoli there is another attraction. At a depth of 10 m there is a statue of Madonna of Shipwreck. The height of the statue is 3 m. It was created by the famous Italian sculptor Pinocchio Sciola in 1979 and in the same year was lowered to the seabed. Every year, every third Sunday in July, near the statue holds a divine service – in memory of all those who died in the sea. Tourists have the opportunity to dive to inspect the statue.

In the vicinity of the island of Cavoli collected a lot of small bays, the best place for swimming all over the Mediterranean.
