Palace Costa Carru della Trinita, Turin

Palace Costa Carru della Trinita, Turin

Palace Costa Carru della Trinita is one of the most luxurious and well-preserved noble mansions of Turin. Its exterior is rather modest, but inside it amazes with the richness of the interior. You should definitely visit it, to have a complete picture of the city of the early 19th century. In 1760, the Governor of Novara, and soon the vice-king of Sardinia, Count Vittorio Amedeo Costa decided to build a palace corresponding to his high status. The project was designed by the architect Birago di Borgaro. The Palazzo was ready by 1763. In 1800, it was slightly reconstructed. For a long time a count's family lived there. In 1942, the mansion was destroyed during the bombing. After the World War II, it fell into private hands and was being restored for many years. The last restoration dates back to 2015.

Architecture and services

The building was designed in the Baroque style and it has 3 floors. Inside there are many halls and rooms. Almost at the main entrance to the second floor there is a monumental marble staircase with powerful handrails. The magnificent ceiling is decorated with complex plasters with a geometric pattern. Behind the doors of the main floor there is the hall of honor, which serves as an elegant hallway to the luxurious master bedroom. On the same floor there are spacious Hall of Chimera and Archers' room, decorated with a rich stucco on the vaults, as well as a Mosaic room. From these you can get to the balcony, which leads to a terrace and a huge courtyard. On the third floor there are several smaller rooms. The façade of the palazzo contrasts with the interior, in which there are many elements of Classicism and Rococo.

Now many events are held in an elegant and rich palace, filled with the atmosphere of the 19th century. The upper floor rooms are used as residential and hotel rooms. But weddings, banquets, fashion shows, business meetings, conferences and seminars are held on the main floor.

How to get there
