Carlo Schmidl Theatrical Museum, Trieste
Carlo Schmidl Theatrical Museum is located in Palazzo Gopcevic that can be found on Grand Canal’s shore. It was founded in the mid-19th century. The establishment had been housed in the Teatro Lirico Giuseppe Verdi till 1991. Currently, this magnificent building presents an exhibition of vintage pieces compiled by a musician and collector Carlo Schmidl. The exhibits tell the history of music and theater of the Trieste city throughout 200 years. The highlight of the museum is considered to be its range of instruments among which you can see pretty unusual, extravagant and extraordinary ones. There are also old theater costumes and accessories put on display here.

Carlo Schmidl Theatrical Museum of Trieste is located on Via Gioacchino Rossini, 4. You can take buses № 5, 8, 9, 10,11, 17, 19, 25, 30 to reach this place.
Opening hours: the museum is open from Monday till Wednesday from 09:00 till 16:00 and from 9:00 till 13:00 on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Admission: full ticket costs 4 euros, reduced one – 3 euros. Children under 5 are free of charge.
