The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II

Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II - a shopping arcade that connects the square in front of the Duomo Cathedral with the square in front of La Scala in Milan, Italy. The gallery was designed by architect Giuseppe Mengoni in the second half of the 19th century. It bears the name of King Victor Emmanuel II and is one of the major tourist attractions in Milan.
Passage has the shape of a Latin cross with an octagonal center, which is decorated with mosaic, symbolizing the different continents: Europe, America, Asia and Africa. In addition, you can see the allegorical images of art, agriculture, science and industry. There are 24 statues of famous Italians, including Michelangelo Buonarroti, Galileo Galilei. Statues carved the famous Italian sculptor Pietro Magny.
Today, there are many shops of famous brands, as well as cozy cafes and beautiful concert halls.
