Sos Molinos Waterfall, Santu Lussurgiu

Sos Molinos Waterfall, Santu Lussurgiu

Cascata Sos Molinos is a small waterfall in the western part of Sardinia, in the commune of Santu Lussurgiu. It is formed by the waters of the Rio Molinos. The river and the waterfall received such name, Sos Molinos, since numerous mills functioned on the stream for many years. The waterfall is located at an altitude of 443 m above sea level with its mouth being situated at 413 m above sea level. This is a 30-metre flow that passes through 5 cascades.

The vegetation of Sos Molinos deserves special attention. The waterfall is surrounded by an oak forest and grassy plains. Daisies, cyclamen flowers and fabulous species of orchids please the eye.

How to get there

The Sos Molinos waterfall can be reached from Cagliari. It is necessary to drive along the SS131 road up to the Bonarcadu-Santo Lussurgiu junction. The road runs at 543 m above sea level along the eastern part of the Montiferru massif.

A trail paved with stone slabs will lead you to the waterfall.
