Zoom Torino, Cumiana

Zoom Torino, Cumiana

Zoom Torino is located near the capital of Piedmont. There are no cages, no locks and no imprisonment. The location of animals is divided into respective zones of their natural habitat. And some of them do move freely around the territory, fluffing out their tail with pride. This park is among the most prestigious in Europe.

History and mission

The park is very young and modern. It was founded in 2007 on an area of 18 hectares. Like many contemporaries, Zoom Torino adheres to the concept of education of the population, from the earliest age. Thus, acquainted with animals and their way of life in very close conditions to natural ones, biologists draw attention to the problems of preservance of endangered species. The park conducts constant scientific research. Here you can help animals not only with a word or a sympathetic glance, but also by giving charity to some programs to preserve endangered species.

Routes and services

Despite the small, limited territory, the administration managed to accommodate more than 50 species of birds and about 40 mammal species. The zoo also has 2 kinds of turtles, and an impressive number of species of fish. Animals from Africa and Asia live here. Their habitats are divided into water and land. Each of them is unique, and everywhere you can be in close proximity to animals. Of course, under the supervision of custodians and biologists, who will talk about the lifestyle of the inhabitants of the park. All tours within these zones turn into a real journey to distant and mysterious continents.

  • Bolder Beach. This is a large swimming pool in which you can swim and through the glass watch penguins of South Africa that live here. There are about 60 of them, and small birds do not hesitate to swim near people and walk on the white sand of the beach.
  • Malawi Beach. Here you can observe the life of hippos in the close proximity. Like the previous beach, this one is open for visiting only in the summer.
  • Baobab farm. This place is inhabited by meerkats living in the Kalahari Desert and surrounding areas. Also, there are hoofed animals that are quite domesticated in Africa: camels, donkeys Watusi and oxen.

  • Island of Madagascar. The main inhabitants are curious lemurs (they cannot be touched) and pink flamingos! Well, who will resist such lovely creatures? Pelicans and huge turtles also live on the island and the pond .
  • Jungle of Asia. Here you can see porcupines, gibbons, as well as one of the endangered species – a small red panda. A beautiful animal inhabiting trees was threatened with extinction due to deforestation of Southeast Asia.
  • Temple of Tigers. Of course, predators cannot live as freely as herbivores. But the rare Amur tigers feel quite comfortable here in the considerable territory allocated to them. It is a ruined Indian temple in the jungle.
  • Stone amphitheater. Predatory birds live and regularly fly into the air: eagles, falcons, owls. During such flights ornithologists will tell in details about a way of life and features of hunting of these graceful birds. Up to 800 visitors can watch the spectaclefrom the stone steps.

The ticket price includes thematic meetings with biologists who will introduce the visitor to the features of different species. Among them are such interesting things as feeding penguins, flight of predatory birds, walks with lemurs, meeetings with tigers, animals of African Savanna. There are also special programs for a fee (10 euros in the box office and 6 euros with the online purchase), which offer a contact meeting with the animals:

  • Falcon hunting. Visitors are given the opportunity not only to observe the process of predator hunting, but also to launch birds from a hand clad in a glove.
  • Giraffe feeding. It is much more interesting to feed the highest mammals in the world, rather than just watch.
