History of the Ponte Settimia Spizzichino
A large arched bridge was built by order of the Department of Public Works and Improvement of the City of Rome. The bridge was created to connect several urban automotive rings in the area of Ostiense. The works were carried out by the international company Solidus s.r.l., the architect was Francesco del Tosto. The designer was inspired by the project of the Spanish bridge in the city of Seville, as well as several arched bridges in Valencia.
Such a construction was achieved as a result of the use of 3-D technologies in architecture. Longitudinal white tubes are intertwined in a variety of geometric shapes. Among the citizens and visitors of the city there is an opinion that in its architecture the bridge is remotely similar to the structure of DNA.
